I Built a CPU Chip from Scratch

One of the most fundamental concepts in hardware is the design of the CPU processor.

In my university course curriculum, we study the hardware internals of the pipeline in 2nd year, but don’t really dig in until the second half of 3rd year.

As my impatience grew, I decided to proceed with implementing the RTL of a RISC-V CPU processor myself. Moreover, I thought of expanding to other computer architecture concepts, such as external memory, a nonblocking cache hierarchy, and multicore cache coherence.
